Rabbi Danny Rich Among 100 of the Best Leaders in the Commonwealth

20 March 2013

Liberal Judaism’s chief executive, Rabbi Danny Rich, is this week taking part in the CSCLeaders conference.  Participants are 100 of the brightest, best and most senior leaders drawn from governments, businesses and NGOs across the 54 countries of the Commonwealth.  Originally set up in 1956 by the Duke of Edinburgh to take an unprecedented view of the global talent marketplace, this annual conference has been renewed by international leadership development organisation Common Purpose.

Visiting London, Belfast and Oxford, Rabbi Danny Rich will be exploring with his fellow participants a challenge that has particular resonance for Judaism, namely “how do people from communities which have spread across the world become the bridge-makers in the global networks of the future?”

Vanessa Emmett, Project Director, CSCLeaders, said: “The CSCLeaders participant group is so diverse, representing more than 25 different Commonwealth countries with an incredible range of backgrounds and experience. It was important to the Selection Group that as many of the different religions of the Commonwealth as possible be represented and we were delighted to receive Rabbi Danny Rich’s application.”

Rabbi Danny Rich said: “This is a unique learning opportunity and I hope that with my particular experience in interfaith matters I will also have something to contribute as well as to gain.”

The Commonwealth is a community of equals that spans 54 countries, six continents, and contains one third of the world’s population.
