Northwood & Pinner hosts General Election hustings

nplshustingsNorthwood & Pinner Liberal Synagogue hosted the Hillingdon interfaith network General Election hustings last Thursday, with more than 150 local residents of the Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner parliament constituency attending.

An inquisitive but respectful audience quizzed Gerard Barry (UKIP), Joshua Dixon (Liberal Democrats), Karen Pillai (Green Party) and Nick Hurd (Conservatives). Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition candidate Wally Kennedy was also present to answer some questions. Unfortunately the Labour candidate Michael Borio could not attend due to illness.
Rabbi Aaron Goldstein, who chaired the event, said: “We are proud, as a congregation of Liberal Judaism, to play our part in the local community.
“We have the facilities and it seems are perceived as being a wonderfully neutral and conducive venue for such events on behalf of local society.”
