Liberal Judaism sends Purim packs to students |
5th March 2015 Liberal Judaism has sent Purim packs to its student members for the very first time. With Passover clashing with the Easter holidays this year, the Purim goodies are replacing Liberal Judaism’s annual Pesach packs. They have been sent to more than 150 Liberal Jewish students across 30 UK campuses, as well as each university’s Jewish Society. Each pack contains two self-craft masks, a grogger (noisemaker), hamantaschen recipe, multi-coloured sweets and some learning about the festival. They were put together by Liberal Judaism’s student and young adult chaplain Rabbi Leah Jordan and youth movement LJY-Netzer.
“There’s also going to be a big joint Liberal and Reform Judaism fancy dress Purim party onthe evening of Saturday March 7 in Tufnell Park, London. “This new initiative is another way for Liberal Judaism to keep in touch with our students, and our students to keep in touch with their Judaism."
The Purim packs were funded by a grant from the NLPS Trust for Progressive Judaism. |
