LJY-Netzer: Age Groups PDF Print E-mail
LJY-Netzer

Age Groups (Shikvot)

Ananim (school years 3-4/roughly 7-9 years old) (Contact – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
Ananim (clouds) is our newest addition to the LJY-Netzer family with its debut on Machaneh Kadimah 2011. It is especially for our larger events, Machaneh Aviv and Machaneh Kadimah. On our smaller events Ananim attend events with Plagim as one age group. Ananim has been specifically introduced to cater for the needs of our youngest participants on our larger events. It is a super-welcoming, ultra-caring and most importantly mega-fun way to spend your early events with LJY-Netzer. A high staff-to-participant ratio will ensure there’s always a friendly face to turn to or another game to play.

Plagim (school years 5-6/roughy 9-11 years old) (Contact – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
Plagim (streams) is filled is laughter, fun and lots of energy. As any 10 year old will tell you, they are the most important things in life, so we make sure that there is plenty as well as our creative services and educational sessions. With loads of Plagim events during the year there are so many opportunities to have fun with LJY-Netzer, whether it’s your first or fifth event Plagim is always jam-packed with activities, song sessions, chances to make new friends and much, much more!

Nechalim (school years 7-8/roughly 11-13 years old) (Contact – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
Nechalim (rivers) is the heart and soul of LJY-Netzer. Many of our members at this age are about to embark on their Bar or Bat Mitzvah and to mirror these we treat the participants in a more grown-up way with a range of sessions specially tailored to be interesting as well as fun. As well as playing crazy games and doing great activities Nechalim are able to take part in fascinating discussions and brilliantly creative services. Nechalim is also a chance to start to make some important decisions by attending our decision-making body Kinus. Nechalim is a great chance to build on old friendships while meeting lots of new mates that you will keep for life!

Yamim (school years 9-10/roughly 13-15 years old) (Contact – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
Yamim (seas) are the oldest participants on our camps. It’s a chance to not only carry on having all the fun you did when you were younger but also have great discussions about things that matter to you as young people. Kinus is a chance for Yamim to influence the movement while also having a great time. We know that you are older than everyone else on our events and we recognise this by having separate age groups on Machaneh Kadimah for the years 9 and 10. The year 9s are the oldest participants on the Kadimah site as well as going on a two day hike! The year 10s are under canvas on a nearby field having a fantastic experience being separate from the main Kadimah site but still part of the LJY-Netzer family. Chalutzim also start their leadership careers on Machaneh Kadimah by hosting all the different age-groups from the main site at special events throughout camp. All the time we make sure that you bond as a group especially as you’ll be spending a lot of time together in the future!

Galim (school years 11-13/roughly 15-18 years old) (Contact – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )
Galim (waves) represent three age groups. A monthly Galim e-newsletter keeps you up-to-date with what is happening in the movement and upcoming opportunities just for you!

Galim Aleph is for school year 11. In Galim Aleph you attend Israel Tour and your first Hadracha Seminar as well as other events throughout the year. A chance to peek behind the curtain of LJY-Netzer, and begin your path to becoming a madrich/a (leader).

Galim Bet is for school year 12. Having attended Israel Tour you can attend your second Hadracha Seminar, lead on our weekends and Machaneh Aviv then top off your year with Kayitz Netzer. The perfect and unique balance of leading and participating!

Galim Gimel is for school year 13. Once you are back from Kayitz you move from primarily participating in LJY-Netzer to primarily leading on LJY-Netzer – how exciting?! With a specific Hadracha Seminar for the age group, culminating in leading on one of our summer opportunities. Then hopefully plenty of you will have chosen to come on our gap year programme, Shnat Netzer, to have the ultimate LJY-Netzer experience!

Bogrim (18-23 years old) (Contact – This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Bogrim (graduates) are the oldest members of LJY-Netzer and often the most active too! Our Bogrim meet three times a year on Mazkirut, make our events possible by volunteering all year round as well as working with our communities around the UK. Despite their years of LJY-Netzer experience they don’t miss out on our classic singing, games and fun that we have on all our other events. A critical part of our operation, LJY-Netzer couldn’t exist without our dedicated and enthusiastic Bogrim. Bogrim also receive a bimonthly e-newsletter so they can keep up-to-date with everything happening in the movement and Liberal Judaism while away from home.
