Rabbi Richard Jacobi biography PDF Print E-mail

Born into a Liberal rabbi's family, Richard continues to be Liberal at heart, having participated in and led youth activities in the UK and US Reform Jewish Summer Camp, taught in religion schools and latterly, trained at Leo Baeck College to become a rabbi. Richard grew up in Southgate Progressive Synagogue and then Harrow and Wembley, and then went to the University of Reading, studying Modern History and International Relations and starting an ongoing friendship with the Reading Liberal Jewish Community.

In addition, Richard has worked in management and organisation development consultancy for over two decades. He was also Chair of Governors of an Enfield Primary School for seven years.

Richard has just started his tenure as Joint Chair of Liberal Judaism’s Rabbinic Conference. He is also leading on the new liturgy project, managing the process of developing the movement’s new Siddur.

Richard is married to Lyn and they have three grown-up children, Josh, Abigail and Hannah.
